About Reishi

Reishi is a beautiful, loving, and sweet 2 year old female mix. My guess is St. Bernard/Border Collie based on her looks and disposition. She is spayed, chipped, and up to date on shots. She loves to cuddle and be near her people. Her energy level is moderate and would do best in a home with a fenced yard to play in. She's happy to go for a good run in the morning and relax for most of the day. She does well around all humans, although I have never seen her with young children. My sense is that she would do well but this is an unknown. She is house trained (will need help during her transition), crate trained, and her basic obedience is solid. Reishi has a high prey drive and can't be in a home with cats, free range chickens, or other pets. We've done lots of work on this and her impulse control continues to improve. She is also dog reactive and since I got her in May she has improved dramatically on this front. She still needs a lot of work on this and needs a patient and confident leader to support her in working on this. Her reactivity is frustration-based. The dog trainer I've worked with believes this is because she wants to 'work' / herd other dogs. She has never aggressed on another dog, but does needs to be in a single dog household. Reishi needs an owner who has experience with dog training and working breeds. She is a beautiful, loving, and wonderful dog. With the right person/home life, she will be a perfect dog. I love her and also know that I cannot meet her working breed needs.
