About Rookie

Meet Rookie!! Oh boy, Rookie is the greatest thing ever lol. So sweet and loving. Rookie is a 5-6 month old, male, Hound/ pit mix best guess. He has the cutest tan freckling on his back. He weighs approx 30 pounds. He will neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped as part of his adoption. Rookie is very friendly and good with other dogs. He loves to rough house and play with them but had no issues being told by the senior chihuahua that playing wasn't happening! He has not met any cats yet. So far he has been great meeting strangers and is very social and friendly. He is good with kids but gets excited and may jump on, or knock over small children accidentally. He's still learning but is generally very good about it. He does great in the house and is mostly house trained. He's really done well with access to the doggie door during the day while his fosters are home to monitor him outside. He hasn't been bad about chewing things that aren't his but is still a younger pup and will need supervision. He's very smart and doing better with training each day. Rookie rides well in the car. He does really good on a leash. He's been sleeping in bed with his fosters or on his dog bed. He sleeps through the night and hasnt had overnight potty accidents so far. His fosters can't say enough good things about this boy, they adore him! He has not had any aggression with food or toys with people or other animals. He has a moderate energy level and will be happy just having a family to spend time with. He really likes another playful dog to wrestle with. If you're looking for an amazing dog and don't mind an overly loving and sometimes active boy then he's your man! Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA.
