About Stripe

Stripe is a one-year-old, 33 pound blue heeler mix currently being fostered in Ft. Myers, FL (Lee County). This guy loves to play with other dogs and can play with all sized dogs from small to a Great Dane. He'll even play with cats! He enjoys long walks, running at the dog park with other friends, and adventuring with his person. Stripe is very energetic and definitely has his puppy moments. He is a little timid with new people at first, but once you get to know each other, he is your best friend. Stripe walks well on the leash, although he is still working on his potty training. Stripe is generally pretty quiet and does not bark, unless he is actively playing with another dog or is startled by something (like a vacuum cleaner!). He does have some separation anxiety and doesn't like to be crated so we think a home where someone is home a lot would be best for him. Stripe is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. ***We are only considering energetic and active homes for Stripe with another active, young and playful dog as well as a home where he won't be left alone for long periods of time.***
