About Coco

Coco is now available for adoption! This sweet angel is thought to be a 1 year old husky/shepherd mix. You may remember our welcome post for Coco. She came to NARPS about 6 weeks ago with a tragic tale. You see she was allowed to be bred, then abandoned in a run down trailer very pregnant. Our poor girl had to survive on trash and whatever she could find to survive. Luckily, one of our good friends found her and asked if we could help her. Of course we said yes. Soon after she was saved Coco went into labor. Over the course of a few days all of her babies tragically passed away. We were heartbroken and angry that our girl had to suffer such cruelty followed by such loss. Coco has recovered from her tragic loss, gained some weight, and has been showered with love and kindness by her wonderful foster family. Coco has learned that not all people are bad. Here's what Coco's foster mom has to say about her: 'Coco has the most beautiful eyes and unique ears. She was left to fend for herself by her previous owner. Fortunately she was able to make her way to NARPS. Coco is still very much a puppy. She is continuing to work on being house broken and does well with positive reinforcement and regular potty breaks. She should be kept crated at night to ensure that there are no accidents overnight. She will calm down in the crate after some initial complaining and sleep through the night. Coco gets along great with the other dogs in the house. She loves to play with her canine foster brother and would love to have another playful dog in her furever home. She likes to have chew bones and enjoys unstuffing and desqueaking her toys. She has gotten along great with the human foster brothers in the house at ages 7 and 11. She rides well in the car but would do well to be buckled in because she likes to ride in the driver's lap! Coco also has a fondness for digging. If it is not looking for moles she likes to find buried walnuts. With all that energy Coco does love to relax at night and snuggle with her people. After some time and diet changes it was discovered that Coco does best on a fish and potato diet. Even some treats can cause her tummy upset. Once on the correct food she has been great.' Coco is spayed, updated on vaccines, microchipped, crate trained and house trained. She's unknown with cats. To be considered to adopt Coco, please submit our adoption application.
