About Maggie

Lab / Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

ADOPTER! Meet Maggie the Magnificent! She's a spayed 2-year old medium size lab/pittie mix located in Hull, MA with our friends at Survivor Tails Animal Rescue (STAR). She is slated to attend a board & train program and would love to have a home waiting for her upon completion! This would be a perfect transition for Maggie! Like many young dogs, Maggie needs structure and direction to keep her settled, focused, and happy. Unfortunately, she was not sufficiently trained and socialized during puppyhood. She's very excited about life, but her excitement can sometimes turn to anxiety, so she's seeking a calm foster or adopter. She was surrendered to rescue after sudden noises, movement, and unfamiliar situations caused her to bite her previous owners. Luckily, during a recent behavior evaluation, it was determined that tasty treats, consistent structure, and basic commands will help her gain confidence to be her best. Maggie has plenty of energy, loves to play chase, and enjoys exploring her surroundings. She would make a wonderful hiking buddy. But when she's settled, Maggie is an affectionate people pleaser who knows no strangers. She's also a smarty-pants who is crate-trained, house-trained, and easily redirected with treats and well-timed sit commands. She is not toy-motivated and needs nothing more than good food and human attention. Because of Maggie's energy and anxiety, she will need an active yet calm home. No children or other pets. She's wary of most dogs. Above all, Maggie needs a dog savvy, dedicated foster/adopter who will continue the training she will learn at dog school. Maggie is currently in MA, but adopters from CT, MA, and NH may apply!
