About Herbie

Everyone meet our new boy Herbie! Herbie is a 2-year-old male mixed breed dog. He appears to be primarily a bully mix but we cannot guarantee the breed of any of our dogs. He currently weighs in at around 60 lbs. Herbie was brought as a stray to Columbus Animal Care & Control. He was so scared and shut down in his run that he would only hide in the back corner and had to be carried outside to have yard time. It is obvious that this boy has been completely let down by humans. Herbie's foster says he is still a very nervous boy but is opening up pretty well considering where he was in the shelter. Herbie has been super well behaved and not put a paw out of place. While we suspect that his personality will continue to come out with more time, for the time being, he is just a big sweetheart. Herbie is friendly with other dogs and cats. He has not been tested with kids but we would recommend him to go to a home with older and quieter kids due to his situation. When you are contacted, you will be told if your application is approved or not. If it is we will proceed with a meet and greet. After everyone has had a chance to do a meet and greet we will then proceed with the adoption to the selected family. If you comment 'interested' that does not count as an application.
