About Kimi

Pomeranian
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. SPECIFICS FOR KIMI: 1. NEEDS A DOG CLOSE TO HIS SIZE. 2. NEEDS A FULLY FENCED YARD, 3. NO SMALL CHILDREN 2 year old male purebred Pomeranian, about 4 pounds. Kimi was an owner surrender when he started losing his hair. He has alopecia which unfortunately is very, very common in Pomeranians. He has a full head of hair, but is basically bald from the neck back. SO, he needs to be 'dressed' for the weather and covered to prevent sunburn. His hair will not come back in as it is permanent. Although he is getting a bit of peach fuzz in places. He is the cutest and sweetest rotisserie chicken looking boy. ٪ He is an active little guy, who is ALWAYS on the go. He is not afraid of anything, just wants to hit the ground running, as fast as his small legs can carry him. He also thinks he's superman and will not hesitate to jump from high places! This is a NO NO for creatures this tiny! SO you need to be on the lookout for his Houdini tendencies and predict and prevent his bad decisions! He doesn't sit still much, but when he does, it is in his favorite round bed. He is obsessed with his bed and hates when its in the wash. He'll wait for it the entire time it's gone. He likes it out of all the rest because it's a round wall like bed that fits him perfectly. He also likes to hump it. This puff ball loves toys. He loves playing fetch, will even grab your socks to fetch (he doesn't express any interest in eating them but I still take them away). He is happiest outside in the yard playing, sniffing and lifting his leg on everything possible! Does some alert barking, but does not bark the majority of time. Prefers to give kisses rather than receive. Always on the go, so he does not sleep with you. Plus, being on the bed is just an invitation to jump OFF! But he is really content in his dog bed or crate, that is left open to use as he wants. Does some inside marking, but will bark to let you know when he has to potty. Gets along great with other dogs and cats, plus kittens (let's them follow him around and investigate him). But he needs dogs that are close to his size. Does not bark on leash and will sometimes bring you his leash Will sometimes nibble your foot if you don't let him follow you, because he just wants to be around people. Likes to be carried in pet slings as well. Because of his small statue, he needs a home with no small children, dogs that are not too big and he really prefers a fenced yard or patio. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older, and always before being placed in their new homes. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at [email protected] or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. If you live within a five-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
