Be sure to read ALL information provided. LEWIS was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs often have only 3 days to be saved. LEWIS is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick disease tested negative for all. He is de-wormed, monthly preventatives and microchipped. At the time of rescue at the end of November 2020, he weighed around 21 pounds and has an estimated date of birth 12 May 2020. We cannot say for sure what breed he is, so we expect families to do their own research on his look and size and decide what breed you think he is and if you have the lifestyle suitable for his needs. At the time of writing LEWIS has only been at the rescue a few days and so there is not much information that can be provided. LEWIS is sharing a double kennel with other teenage, high energy dogs and he is having a great time - wrestling, playing and hanging out with his new friends. He can be vocal when he wants attention, but he is young and not getting the exercise, nor mental stimulation that he needs. He is a lot of fun, a complete goofball and is a great size. He is a high energy boy, very affectionate, responsive and takes treats gently. We are only considering families with an active lifestyle since he is an active breed. We are not able to say how he will be around cats or livestock. All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed. LEWIS is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550 This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. Due to borders being closed, it is up to families to call the US and Canadian borders to find the current details on border crossing. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
