About Kona

PLEASE READ KONA'S BIO THROUGHLY BEFORE INQUIRING. Isn't Kona just the cutest thing ever? This sweet little girl was surrendered to the shelter by her owners who didn't want to care for her any longer. Kona is a 7 year old female chihuahua who is about 6-7lbs of pure love! When Kona was dumped at the shelter, she was left with her seizure meds, but to this day, we have only seen her have 3 small seizures. Per the vet, we are monitoring her, but at this time, she does not need to be on those meds, unless the seizures come more frequently. Kona will come to you as a very shy pup, but if you show her the love she craves and be patient, she will blossom into a very confident dog. We are looking for owners who are not gone long hours during the day and can devote their time to this little sweetie. Kona can be a bit finicky with food and we have found that she requires a home cooked diet to encourage her to eat, so we are looking for owners that will incorporate this into her diet. She seems to be potty trained, but of course will need a few days to learn her new surroundings. She loves her little walks, but is mostly a homebody who enjoys cuddles on the couch with a warm blanket. We would love to see her with another 'small' and 'very sweet' dog in the home. She doesn't necessarily need a yard, but she is an 'alert' barker, so depending on your building, an apartment may or may not work. Kona was given up by her owners who did not think of her as family, but we know there is a family out there that will show her what true unconditional love is. Kona is microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500. WE ONLY ADOPT IN LOS ANGELES AND SURROUNDING AREAS AS AN IN PERSON HOME CHECK AND TRIAL PERIOD ARE REQUIRED.
