About Escher

American Staffordshire Terrier / Doberman Pinscher
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Escher is an almost 5-year old male rescue. He was a bait dog and when he was rescued it was uncertain if he would make it. He still carries some of the fear and trauma from that experience. He is uncertain about people and dogs sometimes. He is a fun-loving dog who loves to run, chase and roll around. When he tires out there's nowhere he would rather be than curled up beside his humans. He is incredibly loving once he trusts you and would make an exceptional guard dog. He is very smart and trainable, but definitely has a mind of his own. We think he would thrive most with an experienced dog owner without other pets or kids. Right now Escher enjoys a fenced in back yard and enjoys basking in the sun and chasing squirrels. He sleeps in an under-the-stairs condo but would love cuddle time in his human's bed and does fine in a crate when we travel. He has no medical problem, just a happy and healthy boy. We are rehoming because we have a 20-month-old toddler, another baby on the way and I'm starting graduate school next year. We think he deserves a home where he will get the love and attention he deserves.
