About Sasha Fierce

Meet sassy Sasha Fierce! She is a 3 year old, 7 pound black and tan Chihuahua who was owner surrendered to us because she was anxious with the kids in her home. She was pretty stressed when she came to rescue and she was a little nippy, but she's relaxed a lot now and we believe she is ready for her forever home. Once she is comfortable with you Sasha Fierce is a great lap dog and will give kisses. She is a cuddler and will curl up in bed right next to you to sleep at night. She's great with the dogs in her foster home, except when they play or run. Then she will run after them and growl. We don't think she knows how to play and interact with other dogs on that level, but she is learning! Sasha Fierce is friendly with them otherwise and will curl up right next to them in a chair or dog bed. She also loves to go outside with them to sunbathe, and she is housebroken. She has recently started to play with toys. She should not go to a home with children and we are not sure how she would be with cats. She was scared of fast movements and loud noises in the beginning and a fenced yard will be a necessity for her. She tries to jet out the front door, so you will want to watch that, and she doesn't care much for a harness, but her foster mom is putting it on her daily so she gets used to wearing it. Sasha Fierce is a smart girl and in less than 2 weeks we have seen a lot of progress with her! She does still have a couple of things you have to be careful about. She has some food aggression and if she's under a blanket and you touch her, she growls. If you pull the covers back first, then talk to her before picking her up she's fine! She is fed separately and left alone until she has finished eating and walked away from her bowl. Sasha Fierce just needs somebody willing to understand her quirks and work with her. She is up to date on shots, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her spay and heartworm test are scheduled for this Saturday. She is a beautiful, loving little girl who will be a good pet for someone who will put in the time and patience to help her overcome her anxiety.
