About Lucho

Hello Everyone! My name is Lucho, and I am a 4-year-old Chihuahua. I have come such a long way in such a short time, my foster mom thought it was time for a big update! I have really settled into my foster family's world, and the fun side of my personality is really starting to shine. I LOVE all toys especially ones that squeak! I still love to be right in the middle of everyone's activity, but I also love having my own space in my kennel. I was an intact male until I had surgery on 11/25, so I have been working hard on my potty skills. My foster mom sees improvement every day. I am only lifting my leg outside but sometimes have an excited or scared accident. It will take more time to really to make this a permanent habit, but my foster mom says I am very smart, and I am well on my way. I can be protective of myself until I get to know you better. I was not exposed to many people/situations in my first home, so everything is new to me but I am eager to explore! Although the longer I have been living with my foster family, I have really improved in this area as well. If I get scared or my foster mom wants me to do something I don't want to do, or someone new comes close to someone I love I can still be a little grumpy. I am a very good boy who wants to be part of a family who will help me reach my full potential. I would do best in a home where I am the only dog, or perhaps there is one dog as small as I am with low energy. I also need experienced adoptive parents who understand that I need structure to thrive and are willing to give me that structure for as long as I may need it. And finally, although I do have friends that are older kids A family with small children would not be best for me.
