About Lovett

Adoption Fee: $260.00
Chihuahua mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Lovett has had a hard knock life, where the whole world seemed to be against her. She is a 2 year old Chihuahua mix who weighs 6.4 pounds full grown. Lovett lived on the streets, and doesn't seem to have ever known a loving hand. She was thankfully trapped by HARTT and brought to us, but still had a long road ahead of her. Lovett was coated with ticks, and unbeknownst to anyone was pregnant. She gave birth to a single, premature baby who tragically passed away within a day. Following this, she was diagnosed with tick fever and quickly began treatment. Her body slowly began to heal, but her spirit needed healing even more. She was completely shut down for weeks, rarely leaving her bed. Over time she has begun to come out of her shell, and now mealtimes are greeted with excited scampering and tail wags. Yet her fear of humans is understandably strong, and she is going to need a truly special home with a family who doesn't mind giving her all the time she needs to feel safe. Now that she knows what it's like to live inside she hates to be outside, but does well with using potty pads to do her business. Her favorite activity is cuddling in a soft bed and observing the world around her - she still isn't ready to participate in it for the most part. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and must have at least one other dog in her forever home to help her feel comfortable. She has never been around children that we know of, and due to her fear would not do well in a home with young kids. Older, calm kids who respect her personal space may be fine. Lovett is ready to spend the rest of her days surrounded by comfort and love, all she needs is an understanding family to give her the fresh start she so deserves. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, vet checked and microchipped. Her adoption fee of $260 includes a complementary vet visit. To potentially adopt her, please send an application (https://azsmalldog.org/adoption-forms/) to [email protected].
