About Sweeney

Sweeney is a dashing 2 year old Terrier mix looking for his forever home. He weighs 10.3 pounds and is full grown. Sweeney is a loving boy that is always willing to cuddle and get all the love from his humans. He is great with other dogs his size but may need to be introduced to any large dogs prior to adoption. Sweeney has loved all the adults he has met but has not been around any children that we know of. He may do well with gentle children that will respect his boundaries. Sweeney was originally a stray that had to be trapped by HARTT (Humane Animal Rescue Trapping Team) and will need a vigilant home to ensure he stays safe and doesn't venture out on his own. He will need a patient home that understands he may require training as he adjusts. Sweeney was infested with ticks upon his arrival, and tested positive for tick fever. He has been treated and is now feeling better than ever! Sweeney is an active boy that used to run track and now has luxating patellas, we recommend getting him started on daily glucosamine supplements to help with his joints! He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, vet checked and microchipped. His adoption fee of $320 includes a free vet visit. To potentially adopt him come to our shelter location at 1102 W Hatcher Road in Phoenix 85021, open Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 6pm. --Covid update: To adhere to CDC guidelines, we are open for adoptions only at a max capacity of 15 people in the building at a time.
