About Ruthie

Adoption Fee: $50
Australian Cattle Dog / Lab
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

I'm looking to re-home my puppy, Ruthie. She was 7 months old on the 22nd. She is a labraheeler, (lab and cattle dog), and is spayed. I adopted her from the humane society, but I will not put her back in a shelter. I'm looking for a home with the right fit. Background: being a labraheeler, she has an abundance of energy, and needs a very active family or person, a minimum of 2 hours of activity daily. She needs someone who works from home, or has someone at home most of the time, she is extremely energetic and does best when not confined for long periods. She is mostly potty trained, but still pees when playing indoors, she sleeps in a cage, and play in a pen indoors. She loves being outside though. Ideally, the adopter will have another dog she can play with. She loves other dogs, men, women, and kids. With her energy, I think she would do best in a home with older kids, maybe 10 and up. I am giving her up because I have a 5 year old son with autism. She barks when not getting attention, and it stresses my son greatly, and I can't add this stress into his life. The humane society said she was a different breed, and I thought it would be great! But the DNA test proved otherwise, and her needs exceed my ability at this time. She is up to date on her vaccines, and her last weight in (2 weeks ago) was 31 pounds. I don't thinks she's going to get much bigger, maybe 5-10 pounds more, tops. **edited to add, labraheelers tend to be mouthy, and she is no exception. She has a pretty hard bite, but not hard enough to break skin, just to hurt. This is not something you can break with these dogs, but you can teach them to have a soft bite, it just takes time with puppies.
