Dodger is one of those dogs who is easy to overlook. While everyone else is barking for attention, Dodger is hoping that the scary people will go away. A Heeler/American Staffordshire Terrier mix, Dodger will be 4 years old in January. He's been very nervous and scared since arriving at the shelter, but the volunteers have found a beautiful, sweet boy when he's learned to trust them. You wouldn't know it by looking at him, but he's an escape artist and an adventurer. He was turned in because his previous owners couldn't keep him at home. Digging under a fence is an easy feat for this guy, and as he likes other dogs and kids, he would go looking for companionship when left alone. Dodger's best possible forever family would have someone home most of the time to keep him from straying, an active human who could take him on hikes or long walks, and a well secured yard or large kennel that would prevent escape via tunneling. Dodger also likes to chase cats, so any potential homes with feline roommates may have a lot of training to do.
