About

Adoption Fee: $75
Bengal / Abyssinian
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Petunia Pickles is a beautiful petite charcoal, orange and white short hair female approx. 1.5 yr. Her adoption fee is $75. She has been vetted, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for Felv/fiv. She would be happier in a home as the only pet to have her people all to herself. Older kids ok. Some cruel person dumped her off to die in a desert area where she found her way to a feral cat feeding station. A feeding station is where feral-wild cats are TNR'd - trapped neutered released and fed. Cats form colonies like this because irresponsible people abandon them, tossing them out like trash. They roam to find food then a loving caring concerned citizen starts feeding these starving cats forming a feeding station. They get TNR'd to prevent kittens, ear tipped so others know that these cats are fixed. The cats 'work' for us taking care of the mice, roof rats, scorpions and roaches, but they must be fixed. The 'wild' ones will survive because they are smart enough to elude predators and sick people. The 'tame' ones need to be taken in, they aren't smart. IF YOU CAN NOT TAKE CARE OF A LIFE THEN GET HELP! ABANDONING AN ANIMAL TO DIE ALONE IS CRUEL AND AGAINST THE LAW. Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, they need an adjustment period. Patience, love and space will be needed. You cannot force her, that will scare her. Actually, you cannot force any cat, period. After her adjustment period, which will be quick, Petunia is a very sweet and loving kitty. She will talk to you in her soft meows. She loves a nice soft bed out of the foot traffic way that she will call her space. She prefers a raised water bowl like a water fountain which is also good for stimulating a cat to drink more. She loves to be by her person and is content to be pet or just lay beside you. She is not an in your face needy cat, she really is just the sweetest. She just wants to be pet and loved. In her foster home the other cats pick on her so she goes to her 'safety zone' cubby a lot. She loves her humans first but does love to play. She loves interactive toys like feather on a stick, shoe lace drag and laser lite as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. She loves kitty treats, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. She will expect to share your bed. She has been free fed quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets up to a can of Fancy Feast morning and night. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health.
