*** AVAILABLE for adoption AFTER Nov 24th *** 'BUDDY' is an adorable 6-7 month old, 30 lbs. Labrador Retriever male puppy who was rescued after being abandoned on a road. Buddy was beyond just 'skinny'; he looked like a walking skeleton. But we used antibiotics; immune system bolstering supplements; high quality puppy food, other vitamin and protein supplements, he is looking GREAT and feeling GREAT ! From Buddy's foster Mom: 'I was found dumped on a back road on the outskirts of town. It's a common dumping road... I was extremely emaciated when some nice people found me hunkering down in a ditch. I was so gratfeul they stopped! I jumped right into their car and gave them lots of whiney kisses to show my appreciation. Because of my condition I wolf down my food. My foster mom has been feeding me well but they have me eating out of this weird bowl that prevents me from eating too fast. I was really afraid of other dogs trying to take my food at first but I am starting to realize that there will now always be plenty of food to go around. I absolutely love playing with other dogs and toys. I didn't know what toys were at first but I've learned from other dogs that they are fun. Kitty cats are great too, but they smack at me. I scream like I am dying when that happens and either flop over or run away. I think kids are great, but sometimes I forget how not to be so excited around little ones. I am still a puppy and need a little guidance with that as well as learning a routine for potty breaks. I have never been in a home before now, so I didn't know we weren't suppose to potty in the house. I am learning quickly though! I just need a little patience. My foster mom wants you to know we have been working on leash training, too. Says I am not that bad on it but need some work. I am such a cuddle bug. I really like chillin' on the couch, watching stuff while snuggled up in the blankie getting my head scratched or tummy rubbed. I hope one day I will have a forever home with an active fun family that will teach me all kinds of tricks and take me everywhere on adventures with them.' Buddy has been de-wormed multiple times to cleans/detox his system and bolster his metabolism. He is current on vaccinations, on monthly heart worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. (is not yet neutered due to his previously malnourished condition, and should not be for another 3 months to assure vitality). This rescue does not administer it's own vaccination shots. All of our rescued dogs' medical care has been administered by a licensed Veterinarian. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition. For an adoption application, please click the email tab on the posting or email directly to [email protected] *** Please note: We are an all-volunteer organization and do not have a facility to visit. All rescues and pounds are getting inundated with daily request to adopt dogs. Please be patient with the process. All our dogs are in foster homes across the region, so pre-qualification via application must happen for a 'meet & greet'. Our adoption process is not '1st come; 1st served as pounds/shelters are, but based off qualified adopters. Once qualified, we will schedule a meet & greet. We cannot 'hold dogs' through the holidays due to foster home space requirements and overall rescue needs for other dogs in dire need of rescuing.
