About Blossom

PLEASE READ BLOSSOM'S BIO THROUGHLY. ALL REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED. This is our beautiful little girl, Blossom. She is an approximate 7-8 year old Maltipoo (Maltese/Poodle) that is about 11lbs. Blossom was a dog surrendered to us by owners that never took care of her health and let her skin get in a very bad condition. When we got her, she had a yeast infection covering her from head to tail, double ear infections, impacted anal glands, and a mouth full of bad teeth. We got her vet checked right away where she was spayed, had a dental, and got on a treatment for her skin and ears. Poor Blossom was in such bad condition that it literally took us maybe 6-8 months to get her back on the right track of health. Per the vet, she will always have skin allergies/issues, so we are ONLY looking for a home that is experienced in a dog with these kind of issues. EVERYTHING we are doing for Blossom now, MUST be continued by her new owners or she can slip back in her health which will be quite costly. We have listed below some of the requirements that will need to be followed. We want Blossom in a home with another sweet and calm little dog (no big dogs) that has a good disposition. She needs owners that will allow her on the furniture as she LOVES to lay on the couch and on the bed with you, but she will get a bit grumpy and do a little bite in the air at you if you disturb her in her sleep, and because of this, we CANNOT place her in a home with children. She MUST go into an adult only home. Blossom is a dog that doesn't necessarily need a backyard to run around in, but it must be noted that she does go potty in the house time to time. She only pees in the house and never poops unless she doesn't have access to get outside. It is not that she isn't potty trained but more of a marking issues from time to time, but she will use a pee pad if it's left out. Unfortunately, Blossom cannot go into a home with carpet. We have seen that the fibers in the carpet trigger her itchy skin.so she needs a home that is carpet free. Blossom has a lot of things needed to maintain her health which can be a bit costly, so we need to make sure she goes into a home that is comfortable with covering these monthly costs. She is a sweet girl that is almost like a cat, very independent, calm, mellow, and just needs very minimal attention. She loves a little walk in the neighborhood, loves car rides, and seems to be very friendly with everyone she meets, but does not enjoy being picked up, carried, or coddled, so if you are looking for a cuddly dog you can carry around with you, unfortunately she isn't the dog for you. Blossom has the cutest little short legs, so we are requiring that her home has dog stairs for both the couch and the bed. This is for her safety and for preventing any back/spinal issues. This little cutie gets so many compliments on how cute and sweet she is and whoever adopts her will be one lucky family! Requirements Needed For Blossom's Upkeep: 1) Grooming EVERY 6 weeks/ She must be kept with a shorter cut. She can't be fluffy. 2) A SPECIFIC diet consisting of Stella and Chewy dry food mixed with their Raw Frozen food and some added home cooking. 3) Supplements and skin powders 4) During the months of maybe March to November, she requires a Cytapoint shot (for allergies) every 10 weeks. The shot is approximately $80-$100 depending on your vet. 5) NO CRATING 6) She will need another dental done in approximately 4 months which can run approx $800 depending on your vet. 7) Weekly ear cleaning 8) An owner that will notice any signs that something is off or not right and get her to the vet right away. Blossom is microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed. WE ONLY ADOPT IN LOS ANGELES AND SURROUNDING AREAS AS AN IN PERSON HOME CHECK AND TRIAL PERIOD ARE REQUIRED.
