About Warren

Adoption Fee: $375
Siberian Husky / German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Warren, a gorgeous, friendly, and affectionate Husky/Shepherd mix. He is estimated to be around 2 years old. This sweet guy was originally rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky. He is now in a loving foster home while he patiently waits to meet his forever family. We do not have any idea of what happened to Warren in the past, but it does not appear that he had an easy life before finding his way to us. He weighed only 35 pounds when he was rescued. His ideal weight range is 60-65 pounds so he was severely malnourished. He also had open sores on his feet and legs and a generalized skin infection. Since coming to us, Warren has gained 10 pounds and is slowly getting closer to his goal weight. His skin and coat have also healed with the help of medicated baths, good food, and lots of TLC. Despite a rough past, he seems to hold no grudges and he loves people. Warren is quick to make new friends and he loves to play! He still has a lot of puppy in him though and can be a bit mouthy when he plays. He also likes to jump up when excited and can be a bit overbearing and enthusiastic in his greetings. Because of this, we are recommending homes with children aged 12+. It doesn't appear that he has any formal training. Obedience classes are recommended for this fella to help him become the best Warren he can be. Huskies and Shepherds are both incredibly energetic and intelligent and thrive in homes that can provide 1-2 hours of vigorous exercise daily. He will make an excellent hiking or running companion and is no couch potato! Warren is being fostered with other dogs and gets along nicely with all of his foster siblings. Warren is crate trained and does excellent with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. Warren is in a foster home in Chicago and he can be seen by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved.
