This handsome black and tan pup is 5 years old and the perfect 30 lb size. He had a rough start to his young life but has really blossomed in foster care, and now he's ready for a family of his own! Huck arrived at the shelter in severely neglected condition at the beginning of this covid debacle. He was quickly adopted, and returned - twice - by families that just weren't a good fit. Thankfully we had a foster home available by then, and when the shelter reached out to ask for help finding his perfect match next time around, we were happy to say yes. We've had a chance to see this sweet boy gain confidence and really come out of his shell. And you know what? The dog beneath that soft wavy fur is a true gem who's ready to shine his way into your heart. Huckleberry boy is looking for a quiet adult home with low foot traffic, and hopefully a private yard of his own. Loud noises can startle him and a bustling area is not his style. He's a chill dude, after all! He enjoys a couple nice walks each day and is content to lay quietly at your feet while you're working. Crate trained and house broken, our lil diamond is also not a barker. He's shy around new people at first but warms up with patience and time, and once you've earned his trust, he's a most affectionate chap who enjoys belly rubs and scratches. Huck could live with a well-matched doggie pal but he'd also be fine flying solo with folks who are home a lot. He hasn't met any cats on our watch but we think he'd probably be ok with a savvy feline too. Where's the lucky family who will adopt our gentle lowrider?
