Meet Logan, a 21# (needs to gain a few pounds), tricolor male sheltie that by best guess is approximately 2 yrs old. Regretfully, Logan is a runner as described by the family that found (and eventually caught him). He appeared to be on the land for some time based on his heavily matted and sunburned coat that needed to be removed. This is why his hair coat is currently shorter. After several weeks of trying, they were unable to locate original owner because he was not microchipped. Due to him being a runner, the family preferred rescue find him a safe and loving home with a securely fenced yard where there'd be less chance of him being hurt or killed if allowed to escape again. Logan is doing well going outside to potty, but still working a bit on territorial marking, which will undoubtably subside after being settled in to a new home. He is doing better traveling in a car, but still drools more excessively than most dogs. He is now neutered, vaccinated, on monthly preventatives and looking looking to fill his 'new family' wish list, to include: 1) Another playful sheltie (or herding breed) to play with. 2) A stay at home parent. He does appear to have some separation anxiety when left alone, not destructive, but whiny; thus he would prefer his human be around more. 3) A welcome lap to snuggle in (yes, he's a lap dog). 4) A securely fenced yard and extreme caution when opening the front (or unsecured) door. If you can fulfill Logan's wish list....feel free to contact his foster mom ([email protected]) or complete the online application after reviewing the 'ADOPTION INFO' link that outlines the adoption process and requirements on our website (www.sheltieshack.com).
