About Pawley

Pawley is a sweet 13 year-old adult Schnauzer who needs a TEMPORARY good home while her mommy is taking care of a family member who is severely ill. Unfortunately with most of Pawley's mommy's time being taken up by taking care of her family member and working full-time, she is unable to give Pawley all of the attention she deserves. Her mom has looked for a friend or family member who can help, but unfortunately due to Pawley's dominant attitude towards other animals and young children there have been no good options available. Pawley is very aggressive with other dogs, but very attached to her human friends. She doesn't get around as easy as she used to so sleeping somewhere she doesn't have to jump up to would be a plus. She has had a decline in her hearing to where she no longer responds to normal level sound or voices. Getting her attention and motioning for a walk will usually work fine. She can nip if you touch her in the wrong spot or startle her, and doesn't much care for kisses or if you get your face too close to hers. However, she loves showing her affection by resting by your side on the couch, or at your feet while you relax. She will immediately become your companion and follow you everywhere, even into bed if that is a possibility. She likes the occasional play session with her toys and likes to tear around for a short time when in the mood. Her diet is normal and she is at a healthy weight, and very well house-trained (no accidents unless she's left inside an extremely long time). An ideal situation would be a single person or couple with no other dogs or animals. Young children would not be ideal either, but teenage and up would be ok. If it is at all possible, a private fenced yard would also be a comfortable setting to allow Pawley to roam around on her own. As mentioned above, this would just be a TEMPORARY foster situation while her mommy helps her family member recover from his surgery.
