About

Adoption Fee: $75
Russian Blue / Bengal
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Henri Hart is a handsome silver gray and white short hair male approx. 5yr. His adoption fee is $75. He has been vetted, neutered and he tested -Leuk, +FIV. He has had all of his battle wounds bandaged up, he has healed and he has gained 4 lbs! He is good with other nice non aggressive cats, nice calm cat friendly dogs and older kids or he would be fine as the only pet to have his people all to himself. Henri had a family that abandoned him without food, water or shelter. He made his way to a feral cat feeding station. When he was found he was skin and bones and he had a baseball size abscess on the side of his face. A feeding station is where feral-wild cats are TNR'd - trapped neutered released and fed. Cats form colonies like this because irresponsible people abandon them, tossing them out like trash. They roam to find food then a loving caring concerned citizen starts feeding these starving cats forming a feeding station. They get TNR'd to prevent kittens, ear tipped so others know that these cats are fixed. The cats 'work' for us taking care of the mice, roof rats, scorpions and roaches, but they must be fixed. The 'wild' ones will survive because they are smart enough to elude predators and sick people. The 'tame' ones need to be taken in, they aren't smart. Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, they need an adjustment period. Patience, love and space will be needed. You cannot force him, that will scare him. Actually, you cannot force any cat, period. After his adjustment period he is as sweet as can be. He longs for a slower, quieter environment to live in and will blossom once he gets comfortable. He is shy at first but food motivated and can easily be won over with pets and wet food. He may still be cautious and hide when a stranger comes in until he gets some pets and realizes he is safe. Being abandoned in an environment that hurt him has made him hesitant but he recognizes familiar voices and likes baby talk. He dislikes loud noises and car rides and mostly ignores other cats. He likes flat, rectangular cardboard scratchers. He is not currently a lap cat but he is becoming more and more confident so you never know if that could change in the future. He has an adorable quiet meow when he is expecting wet food or greeting someone he knows. He is calm and happy just to share the same space as his person with occasional pets. He is low maintenance, has perfect manners and litterbox skills. He will not be in your face but he will want to be near you. He loves his jowls and chin scratched and loves a good butt rub. Pet him and he will roll around happily. Henri had a rough time outside looking for food and for somebody who cared. Being dumped without resources and not being fixed he had to fight for his food which he wasn't very good at. He tested negative for Felv (leukemia) and tested a very faint positive for FIV. The vet was very surprised considering he received such a healthy summarization and had no difficulties with his neuter. If you are at all familiar with the latest information, you know a FIV positive cat can live just fine with other uninfected cats and not transmit the virus. They no longer have to be adopted into homes with only other positives. The disease is transmitted by deep bite wounds from intense fighting typically from unfixed cats. They can also live long healthy lives. Here is a great link https://www.fivcatrescue.org/fiv-what-is-fiv/ for info also I have a cut and paste of the latest information and it is good! so if you'd like to read it or are concerned just text me. He loves interactive toys like feather on a stick, shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. He loves boxes and laying in plastic trays. He loves kitty treats and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. He will expect to share your bed. He has been free fed Whole Earth Farms quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and he gets a can of Fancy Feast morning and night. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Henri Hart FOR LIFE! CNPS text 602-332-6615 email [email protected]
