About

Adoption Fee: $75
Bengal / Abyssinian
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Gilda Guppy is a beautiful rust, silver, blue and white short hair female approx. 2yr. Her adoption fee is $75. She has been vetted and spayed. She had it rough on the street and is fearful of other cats and dogs so she needs to be the only pet. She does like nice kids. She was ruthlessly dumped unfixed in a neighborhood with no food or water, where she of course got pregnant. A neighbor heard her cries for help. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, especially older kitties, they need an adjustment period. Patience, love and space will be needed. You cannot force her, that will scare her. Actually, you cannot force any cat, period. After her adjustment period Gilda is an incredibly loving and social girl. She will welcome you home with sweet meows, head bumps and kisses. She loves new people and will crawl on and love anyone in the house. She loves to be held like a baby and get head kisses and she will purr right in your face. She can be independent if she isn't in the mood for socializing but she is also needy and will want to be where her people are. When she wants attention, she will rub against you and chirp. She loves to groom people and licks all over your face and hair. She is very curious and loves to watch birds through the window but just because she likes to look out the window at the birds does not mean she wants to go out, it just means she likes to look out the window! She loves being pampered and spoiled. She will run and bounce around the house and will play as long as you want. She can be overstimulated or just not in the mood, like any cat, so read her 'cat signs' and let her be. She is very good at telling you she is uncomfortable and enough is enough through vocalizations. All kitties need a safety zone where they can safely retreat like her carrier to hide in so she isn't completely exposed. She loves interactive toys like feather on a stick, shoe lace drag and laser lite as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. She loves kitty treats, salmon being her favorite, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in watching the birds. She will expect to share your bed. She has been free fed Only Naturals quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets %BD can of Authority morning and night. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Gilda Guppy FOR LIFE!
