About Buddy

Buddy is a muscular Black and Tan 7 year old, 15 pound boy looking for love! Buddy has not been tested with young children and he Is looking for a home with adults or with respectful children over the age of 12 years. Although Buddy gets along with everyone, he does seem to prefer women over men. Buddy is a very calm little guy. A submissive boy, Buddy would like a home where he could be an armchair pal and have lots of cuddles. Buddy is well leash trained. Buddy gets along with other dogs but he has not been tested with cats. Because of his calm personality his foster mom does think that he would do well with a respectful kitty. Buddy is currently in a loving foster home in Georgia. Buddy likes to chew on a chew toy and can be quite animated when he is engaged by his foster family. His favorite spot of all is to cuddle on the couch with his foster mom. He is such a loving boy and would do well in a home where his family could be home most of the time. Buddy is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night and is happy to stay in his crate if his foster family leave the home. He is house trained provided he is given regular opportunities to go outside. He does best with a regular schedule of potty breaks. Like all dachshunds he will need to be confident in his environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. Buddy has significant vision impairment due to neglect and lack of treatment of an eye condition prior to coming into our rescue. He had surgery to correct this condition (cherry eye and excessive bleed-over�%A0pigmentation ). In addition due to the neglect of his eye condition Buddy has very little tear production and requires daily drops to create tears. Sometimes Buddy will 'startle' if someone appears suddenly before him or bumps into him. Buddy is a wonderful loving boy who deserves a forever home that will treasure him and give him all the cuddles he is longing for. Will you be the lucky one to welcome him into your life?
