Fully blind in one eye, sees maybe shadows in the other. ----- Additional Notes: Helen came to rescue after struggling since birth and being rejected by her mother. Turns out, she is blind. Her family did a great job raising her and keeping her going and she comes from amazing bloodlines of championship field dogs, however, sometimes mistakes happen in genes and chromosomes and she is one of those mistakes. But we kind of like mistakes. And we really like Helen. She spent a couple of weeks with the trainer working on her confidence, navigational skills, and basic training, like leash and commands because all of that is foreign to her. She loves the company of other dogs and is indifferent to cats so far. She is easily startled and is working on some things that will hopefully help her adapt to her condition and fit into a family dynamic. She is special and will need a special family. Here at our home, she has really come out of her shell. She is leash trained, loves to play and really likes to be in the middle of everything! Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is mandatory.
