About Wally

Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they have been adopted. All of our dogs live in foster homes in TX, so much is known about their personality and temperament. My namesake is an awesome dude named Famous Wally Amos...the founder of Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookies!!! And I am just a s sweet as the cookies made famous by the original Wally!!! At 20 months young and 72 pounds, I am fully growed!! I might stand to gain a few pounds..totally based on treat intake......YUM YUM!! I love treats and am very food motivated. I am also a people pleasin' kind of dude, so future training will be easy peasy!! I am already quite accomplished in this department with people pleasin' behaviors like sit , lay down, stay , shake , leave it , drop it. I am also crate trained, but my original owner says they don't need to crate me anymore, because I am a 'Good Dog!' When my family leaves, they put me in the kitchen behind a baby gate (which I could easily jump if I were so inclined!) But, I don't ever jump the gate; I just stay in the kitchen and wait for my family to return because I am a 'Good Dog'. I am very proudly of Labrador Retriever Hairytage, and display many of the most desirable traits of this Favorite Dog in America breed!! I am a blend of energetic,and easy going kind of guy. I am good with kids and other dogs (not sure about cats). My original family had three kids, ages 10, 8, and 5. I loved these kiddos, but sometimes my over enthusiastic tail wag would knock the 5 year old over (Sorry about that!!) I only bark to alert my owners of what I perceive to be potential danger, but am generally a quiet dog. I have lots of energy and like to play fetch a lot!! Besides playing fetch, my two favorite activities are chasing and popping the bubbles that my kiddos blow for me and running through the sprinklers!! Like most Labs, I love H2O!! I also love getting neck, belly rubs, and getting brushed...so I guess I actually have a lot of favorite things!! Another favorite are my chew toys; a bully stick , bone, or a Kong toy. Stuffed animals have a short shelf life when they are put in my toy box!! Man, they are really fun while they last!! I am a great companion and family dog; I am loyal, intelligent, and accommodating.
