About Jethro -Eastern NY

Adoption Fee: $400
Great Pyrenees
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Description of pet Dog name and description: Jethro will be 5 on December 27th. He came in with a brother and we wanted to keep them together but that is not working out and we know is a tall order. They lost their owner to a major heart attack. Great dog. Loving and gentle. Used to being professionally groomed. Liked the inground swimming pool. He is great about treats. His only vice is he does not like to be bothered while eating his food dish. This is workable. Let him eat and when he is done put the dish away. Do not free feed a dog like Jethro. He will not be placed with small children because they will not respect his bowl. He would be okay with a female dog but would love to be your only dog. He wants to be with you. He rides well in the car and just wants your love. He is not destructive in the home but will get into the biscuits if the box is down. He will be neutered on the 28th of December. After neutering recovery he will be ready for a new home. HE IS NOT A WORKING DOG AND WILL NOT BE PLACED AS ONE. IT WOULD BREAK HIS HEART. THE APPLICATION PROCESS CAN BE FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE AT http://www.nepyresq.org/page/adoption-process-47.html.OUR DOGS ARE IN FOSTER HOMES ACROSS THE NORHTEAST. AFTER YOU ARE APPROVED YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE FOSTERS SO YOU CAN GO MEET THE DOG (S) . YOU CAN NOT TRAIN A PYRENEES TO STAY IN YOUR YARD WITHOUT A FENCE. IT IS IN THIER NATURE. IF YOU WANT A DOG TO WALK OFF LEASH WITH YOU THIS IS NOT THE BREED FOR YOU. The adoption fee is $400 due to cost of medical needs of our dogs. $450 for Dogs 12 months and under. You will receive a copy of their medical records when you adopt. If you have never had a Pyr Puppy you need to read this : http://www.nepyresq.org/page/i-want-a-great-pyrenees-puppy-50.html. We DO NOT accept INVISIBLE fencing for the following reasons: 1) Most Pyrs ignore the pain and go through it. 2) This is a guardian breed and this fencing does not keep people or other animals out of your yard. The Pyr could take them as a threat or be attacked by them.
