About Rambo

We've had Rambo for 5 years. When we bought him from a fellow soldier, we found that Rambo had had nearly no human interaction other than with his owner. While physically very well taken care of and healthy, his owner told us that Rambo was kept tied to a door for the majority of his first year of life due to the wife of the owner not liking dog hair in her house. Since we got him, he's been very loyal to us. He loves our immediate family (Me, my husband, and two kids) but he is very iffy around others. He has bitten our grandmother, my uncle, a cousin, and a little girl who was playing with our kiddos. We've taken him in stores and walked around parks and he does good around others. It just seems like when they're in our home, he goes straight into protect mode even those these people are not a threat at all. Rambo was diagnosed heart worm positive in August and the vet told us we could try two options, we chose the method of giving him heart work medication monthly to continue to kill the worms since we aren't in the financial position to fork out over a thousand dollars for the treatment. Rambo has also had constant ear infections since we got him. We'll get one cleared up and then a couple months later here comes another one. We've been to a few different vets and tried several different antibiotics, steroids, and ear drops, etc. nothing seems to keep them gone and I am at a loss of what to do. Rambo is a very loving dog to his closest humans and VERY protective. I just want him to be able to find an amazing family who can care for his medical needs better than I am able to.
