About Matthew

Meet Matthew! This sweet boy came up from Louisiana a few months ago. He had lived a very sheltered life down south & had a bit of a difficult time adjusting to life here. It was very evident, very early on that he found his new surroundings terrifying & needed some extra guidance to become comfortable in his new life. One of Matthews biggest hurdles was learning there is safety in trusting new people. He initially can be a bit defensive of his personal space & cautious around strangers. However, with a little bit of time & patience, & the assistance of some treats, Matthew very quickly learns he can be the silly goofy puppy he truly is around you! Matthew very much likes other dogs & has an extra sense of confidence observing dogs in new situations. He would love to share his home with another social, mellow pup that won't mind some puppy antic play here & there throughout the day! Due to Matthews initial anxiousness with new people, he would be best suited in a home with no children, or older, dog savvy children that can go slowly with him & not startle him while he is going through the process of adjusting to his new home! He is a working breed so his new family would need to be willing to not only keep up with his physical exercise, but also provide him with mental stimulation! Matthew loves to go for walks & he enjoys his playtime, both with other dogs & with his people. When he isn't out & about being a puppy, he loves to snuggle up with you-he is a very affectionate, loving guy! Matthew is crate trained, walks well on his leash, he is housebroken, & is working on his commands-he has so far mastered sitting! Matthew has made amazing strides in his foster home & has really come out of his shell proving what an incredibly affectionate, happy boy he is!
