About Mama

Meet Mama, a precious six-year-old, 45 lb. pit mix. She was found as a stray in North Carolina before ending up in a high kill shelter. It was immediately clear that this girl has been through a lot and we believe she was a throwaway backyard breeding mama. She is now in Connecticut ready to find her happily furever after! Mama is an affectionate sweetheart who loves cuddles and being next to her people. Her wagging tail and beautiful smile will show you how happy she is! She would love to find a comfy couch to relax on and after a quick walk, she's ready to for more snuggles. If you're looking for a low energy dog and professional couch potato, this girl is the one for you! With all the trauma she has endured, Mama would prefer to be an only pet. When she arrived to Connecticut, we noticed a lump on her side. After a visit to the vet, we learned it was cancerous. Since then, she had undergone surgery to have it removed and is thankfully now cancer free! Mama is doing great and continuous to be a happy go lucky girl! :) Her adoption fee is $350 and she is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed.
