About Xena

Amazing girl, has come so far since we met. I rescued her 2 years ago from a severe neglecting abusive environment. Currently we are living in a motel after a divorce. I would live under bridge with her but also have two kids. We have been turned down numerous times for a home when they see she is a pit bull. Very unfair. I do not want to put her into a shelter as she won't have much a chance at all. First impression of her would never lead to a second when one sees her behavior locked up, scared as hell and has no clue who the person is. She is vocal and protective. Prefers women but will eventually warm up to a man....seen this three times. Took her about 3 months to not growl at my 5 year old son, she nipped at him twice. Never broke the skin, more like a mom putting her cub in her place. My son is very relaxed...so I would be worried bout a high strung kid around her. She does not and has never attacked unprovoked. She growls and gets defensive when her personal space is invaded by an annoying human. Given time, patience and a lot of love she will be your best friend too. First time her and I met we were alone, she got into the house...I found myself pinned to the couch with this scary ass dog growling and inch from my face. Since this day though, she has become more trusting, social and loving.
