3-yr old Vincent came to us from an acquaintance with a young growing family. We understand he was an indoor/outdoor cat - we plan to keep him indoor with supervised outdoor access. Our back yard is high walled. He is litter trained. Our home is relaxed, no kids, no pets for 2 years - relaxed atmosphere. We've rescued cats so we figured we knew what to expect. In all transparency, Vincent is a challenge. Certainly nocturnal, stays hidden, briefly popping up in the early morning (getting ready of work) or late night (returning from work). He will approach us, rub/scent mark our fingers and hands, slinks around allowing petting along head/ears/neck, down sides and back - until he decides enough - under a minute. His anxiety escalates - tail whipping, guttural growl, and anxious vocals/meowing. Its at this time we stop petting, he hisses, swipes with paws and will bite. We back away to quell his anxiety. He is not happy here and we are at a loss. Interested? Contact me. Thanks.
