About Dexter

Dexter is in need of a good home with a dominant owner who can give him LOTS of exercise! He needs so much more than our city life can offer him. He is such a good snuggler, he's gentle with food, trained in several typical dog commands... but he's a chewer and has tons ofenergy! He loves my children and plays well with them as well as with our friends who bring their children to our home (other than excitable jumping and the Catahoula instinct to 'herd' at the ankles when he gets excited). Dexter lives with a female dog and 2 cats which he gets along with but he does like to chase other cats and opossums that wind up in our yard, so we can't guarantee cat-friendliness. He's up-to-date on all shots, is neutered, and chipped. We love him, but he deserves a better fit for his energy. Dexter was found abandoned in a ditch as an underage puppy (a few weeks old). We estimate his birthday to be January 16th(ish) 2019, so he is *almost* 2 years old.
