About Tiggy

Tiggy is a very sweet girl who was abandoned by her owners a year ago and has spent the last year staying in our garage during bad weather. Several of the neighbors feed her and she goes in and out of various homes on the street but she would really like to be somebody's kitty. She is a very sweet affectionate girl and likes kids. She does not like to be picked up currently but she's adjusting and lets us hold her for a bit at a time. She would rather come and sit with you if you sit on the floorand asks for attention but gets nervous if she's picked up off the ground when you're standing. She likes to go outside and chase the leaves and squirrels but has free access to our garage and a warm bed there so she comes and goes as she pleases. We would really like to have her tested at the vet and bring her inside but we have two cats and she is a third the size of my female who does not want another cat in her house. She's a very small cat and probably only weighs five or six pounds. She does get flea treatment and seems to be in good health. We do not plan to live here for another full year and we are afraid something will happen to her. Her owners moved away in Winter of last year and she came to our house with ice in her hair so we built her a place to go out of the weather but she asks to come inside and we let her in and out of the basement also so she can stay warm. She should adjust to a new home in the normal time frame of about two weeks, she should not be where she will be allowed out with traffic, she doesn't seem to understand cars and we worry she will get hurt. She's a chatty friendly girl and probably about 2 years old. She goes into the fences with the neighbor's dogs but ran from a friend's dog when he visited, possibly if he wasn't so large she'd have been OK with him since the Yorkie down the street doesn't scare her. She needs to be in a real home with her own people who well take the time to let her adjust and give her the attention and care she deserves.
