About Jack

Jack and Jim are 30 pound 1 year old schnauzer mixes looking for adopters who can slowly expose them to new situations. Jack loves to sit next to you on the couch and get pets once he trusts you. They are both extremely sweet and loving once they get to know you. They will need someone who is understanding but will not try to baby them. Both of these boys lived their whole lives in a backyard so everything is new to them which is scary. No one ever went out of their way to make sure they were comfortable or well taken care of so they do not understand when someone new tries. They have little to no experience on a leash although Jack will follow the person he trusts when on a leash. These boys need homes that will give them space for a few days and let them decide when it's time for interaction. These boys have a ton of potential. They are NOT fearful to the point of hiding which is huge. They just need someone to give them space and earn their trust. It took both boys a couple hours to decide to say hi and ask for pets here but we gave them space and let them decide. Having another dog in the home to show them the ropes would also be helpful for them.
