About Charlie Autumn

Welcome Charlie Autumn to CCPAL Rescue. She is about 1-year old sweetie. Charlie ('Charlie Autumn') From the beginning she has been an adorable, good natured, and friendly dog. She has shown zero aggression towards us or our children, including while being fed, receiving treats, or with any toys. She plays very well with our Golden Retriever, Winston, sometimes a little more aggressively, but he handles himself just fine, and instigates as often as she does. She gets along very well with other dogs (as long as the other dog doesn't mind her high activity and way of playing) and love people of all ages. She is a sweetheart, and we care about her greatly. Despite ongoing attempts, we have been unable to fully train her to let us know when she needs to go outside when she is on carpeted floors and she is clingy and wants to be with her human. She would do best in a home where she has an active dog and or someone that stays home and can spend time with her. We let her out frequently, and take her on walks, though she still cannot be allowed anywhere with carpet without one of us watching her, or else she is likely to go to the bathroom inside - often shortly after coming inside. Anytime she is not within our sight, she now has to go to her kennel. She goes in without a problem (we usually fill a Kong with peanut butter and that keeps her occupied), but she has had to spend more time than we like in there. She goes to Doggy Day Care every Tuesday and does very well - everyone there loves her and says she is a great dog - but sometimes she is too active and excited around other dogs and has been growled and snapped at. Charlie is healthy, spayed and ready to join her forever family. She needs an active family to join. A family that jogs, runs, hikes would be her pick. A fenced yard would be good. She loves other dogs and does well with them but she is sometimes too much energy for another dog lower in energy and they may get grumpy with her. Her rehoming fee is 250.
