About Ellie Mae

Adoption Fee: $175
German Shepherd mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Ellie Mae. She is a 1 year old, 35 pound girl in need of a new home. Ellie Mae was taken home as a puppy with very big ears from a Craigslist ad and has been with her family since the beginning. Unfortunately, there have been some dynamic changes and she is no longer getting along with the other 2 dogs in the home. Her owners have tried everything including an assessment and sessions with Stepping Stones who ultimately support their difficult decision to find a better home that fits her needs. Ellie Mae is a shy girl, but she does love cheese. Thankfully, she made up to me enough to take the delicious cheeses and pose for a few pictures when I met her. When she is unsure of a situation, she just hangs back and observes. She is generally quiet, but may bark when outside if she sees the neighbors are up to something suspicious. She does warm up a bit slowly to visiting strangers, but once you have her heart, she loves hard! In her happiest moments, she just wiggles and dances. Her most treasured possession is her little orange ball that she sleeps with at night. She loves to play fetch and she likes squeaky toys. This girl is also a fan of ice cubes and she will do zoomies around the house when she gets one. Ellie Mae does know some basic commands and is very treat motivated and overall a people pleaser! She adores her humans. Ellie Mae has not had experience with cats. As we mentioned above, she will need a home with no other dogs. Due to inexperience and her shy personality, we also would recommend age 12 and older, mature children for Ellie Mae. A predictable, laid back home is what will work best for her. A fenced yard is a must. Ellie Mae is crate trained and house trained. She has done very well in her training at Stepping Stones thus far and the staff are really big fans of this sweet girl. Ellie Mae is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $175.
