SAD AND FREAKED OUT TRIPOD PUP MULLET IS INCONSOLABLE! Outside the ACC, he was friendly and allowed petting. He became tense as he entered the ACC :(. This handsome boy is missing a front leg :( and for some reason, does not like males. His owner can no longer care for him due to Mullet's medical issues like UTI, and skin rashes. Previously lived with: 2 adults, 1 teenager (19 yrs old), 1 small dog and 1 medium dog, 1 cat How is this dog around strangers? Mullet can be friendly with people, but he does not like men. He will growl at men and wont like them touching him or approaching him. If someone unfamiliar approaches him and his owners or his home he will bark at the person. How is this dog around children? Mullet is usually good with the teenage in the home, but sometimes the teenager runs through the home at early hours and it possibly frightens Mullet. Recently he snapped at his sweatpants leg, he didnt make contact with his skin. How is this dog around other dogs? Mullet is very tolerant and relaxed, playful around other dogs. He will bark at them when he sees them outside on a walk, but it is because he wants to play with them. He lived well with the 2 dogs in the home. How is this dog around cats? Mullet has been around a cat in the home, he does well with the cat. He has been exposed to cats that did not like him and have been aggressive with him. If a cat swats or is aggressive Mullet will react and go after them. Resource guarding: Mullet guards his food or bowl while eating, he will growl and attempt to bite if you approach him or try to take it away. He doesnt mind if you try to take away a bone, rawhide, treat or toy. If you try to trim his nails he will growl at you. Mullet isnt bothered if you push/pull him off furniture, or hold/restrain him. Mullet doesnt mind being disturbed while resting, given a bath or brushed. Bite history: no bite history. Housetrained: Partially Energy level/descriptors: very high energy Has this dog ever had any medical issues? Yes Medical Notes UTI, ear mites, skin rashes. For a New Family to Know Mullet is described as friendly, playful, confident, pushy, independent, anxious. He is very sweet and enjoys to play with any kind of toy. He likes to fetch, tug, chase, wrestle. He sleeps in a dog bed or in bed with you at night (if you let him). He eats both dry and wet food. He does have some potty accidents sometimes but knows how to go on wee-wee pads, newspaper, gravel/dirt and grass. When left alone in the home he will go potty indoors. Mullet knows how to sit, stay, come, go down. He enjoys brisk walks on leash, running/jogging, playing in the yard. He will pull very hard on leash, off-leash he will run away and can be sometimes hard to catch. Behavior Notes: The dog was friendly outside MACC, he allowed counselors to pet his head, was easily leashed and wagged his tail when greeting. When counselor brought him inside MACC he began growling in the lobby and urinated. He began escalating in the admissions office and had a tense body, began growling in the office. A male vet services staff came in, dog growled but was able to be double leashed and walked into medical. Dog wasnt collared or microchip scanned.
