About Joy

Joy is an older girl looking for a place to call her own, permanently. At 9 years old, Joy's idea of a great day is a warm comfy bed, delicious treats, some love from her favorite people, and maybe a quick walk around the block. Don't let this girl's age scare you off, she still has plenty of energy to kick up her heels for a bit of play. Joy is still quite strong on the leash despite her older age. She just doesn't need as much playtime as the younger pups do, but she still enjoys a good playtime and can get pretty excited. Joy is a mature girl that is a bit picky on her dog friends. She prefers calm dogs that understand she's older and should be in charge. Joy came to us when her owner could no longer care for her and now she's looking for the last home she'll ever have. Joy's ideal home would not have kids younger than 12. To apply for Joy, please go online to rosscountyhumanesociety.org. We have no way to test for cat or other small animal compatibility. However, we do offer a 5 day foster-to-adopt program to those who live within an hour of Chillicothe, OH. This will allow you time to figure out if this dog is compatible for you. If not, simply bring the dog back and if it's a great fit you just come back and adopt.
