About Melanie

****Melanie is available for adoption in New England only ***** Melanie and her brother, Jake, were found abandoned in a box on the side of the road in rural West Georgia. Both puppies had ringworm at the time, but have since recovered, and they are both happy and healthy! We have no idea who mom and dad were, but the pups appear to be boxer/pit mixes. At 12 weeks old, Jake and Melanie are about 16 pounds, although Jake is a bit bigger than Melanie. We assume they will grow to be medium size dogs. They both love to wrestle and play with squeaky toys! They enjoy playing with their foster siblings and get along well with other dogs. The puppies are learning to walk on harness and leash and foster mom is teaching them what is appropriate to chew on. They are just babies, so adopters will have to teach them basic skills such as potty training and continue their socialization. Their spay & neuter dates are scheduled for October 28th and they will be ready for their new homes soon after. Fostering in Stoughton, MA currently. Jake & Melanie will be available to an experienced dog owner only due to their past. Applicants must have a vet reference.
