About Glory

Pit Bull / Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

There's a lid for every pot. And a home for every 'stuck' pup. On Friday I posted about the current Manhattan shelter population. Full of 'stuck pups,' long-stay dogs with special needs in need of homes. And extra help to get there. I received an overwhelming amount of support, stories and real-world examples that life with a reactive dog, or an 'only-dog,' was worth it. So today I present one of our most stuck pups, stuck for nearly the longest. Glory. And few promise to be more worth it. %90 3 year-old Glory first came to us in July. She was shy and growly with new people. 'Stranger danger,' as we call it. And she had a bitten a small dog that approached her in the home, not breaking skin. So will need to be the only pet and would also do best in a home without children. Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about who Glory is. Glory is playful. Nearly 100 days inside a shelter, and this little moo cow is perfectly content so long as there's a ball and room to run (or waddle). Speaking of, Glory is unspeakably cute. At a *very* compact 64 pounds, she is a piglet, a cow, and an ottoman (I say this with love) all mixed together. With a tail that's always in motion and a smile you can't resist. That stranger danger? We haven't seen sight of it. Though, granted Glory's now surrounded by friends. Which reminds me - Glory is loved. Though she's been walkable only by staff for the duration of her stay, she is always, always, out and about. Lunch breaks are spent with her instead, 10 minutes turn into 20. And it is a testament to all that enrichment that Glory remains as content as she is. Still, Glory can only do so well in this environment. And over recent weeks I've found her looking increasingly sad in her kennel, floppy ears and downturned-eyes resting between two pink paws. Glory needs to go home. And though they all have, truly, Glory has, without question, earned it. Let's not let 100 days go by without a prospect. Please help us reach homes w/o pets or children by sharing and if you have no children and no other pets please give this sweetheart a chance at a forever home , her chances are lessen greatly being a only pet . Please call Kat 516 4573678, I can send you some videos and other pics as well . Because there is a lid for every pot. And a home for our sweetest moo. This post is going out with a prayer that the very special angel is reading this right now , yes you , the one with no kids and no other pets :))
