It's in the dog/puppy best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. Mikey is a sweet dog with a kind face. He loves playing in the yard and is getting better at walking on the leash every day. He does very well in his crate at night or if we leave the house (needs food encouragement to get in). Since Mikey likes to play so much, he will need an active family. Mikey was found as a stray and appears to might have an old injury on one of his back legs that he occasionally limps on, but that does not slow him down. Mikey has been doing well learning new things. He's mastered 'sit', is pretty good at 'come', and we are working on 'stay', 'leave it', and 'kennel'. Mikey needs a home that will continue positive reinforcement. He is very food motivated, so training has been relatively easy so far. The only kids Mikey has been around are our neighbor's teenagers, so we are not sure how he would do with small kids, but he is always happy when he meets a new person. He can be shy at first when meeting new people, but will warm up to you quickly
