About Ms Hathaway & Elle Mae

These two girls are two of five puppies that were abandoned in some woods. Elle Mae and Miss Hathaway are Lab/Black Cur mix, approx., 9-10 months old, 40 plus pounds, moderate energy level; with very sweet and scared dispositions. It was a challenge to catch these girls and they were terrified along with their brother Jethro who has since been adopted. Their foster has spent time helping to build trust since its obvious humans were cruel to these poor pups. These two have lacked confidence in the human race, but since living in their foster home has gained in preparedness on living in a home, full of love and kindness so they can go to a forever home. Elle Mae and Miss Hathaway are housetrained, good car riders and learning to walk on a leash. These girls enjoy hanging out with their family, love being indoors were its cool and playing with one another. Elle Mae and Miss H are good with other dogs, they have not been around cats, they do not jump on people, and will definitely require a physical fenced in yard. The girls are very agile, intelligent, treat motivated, need to be crated or supervised as they still have some puppy chewing going on. Cuddles and kisses need to be earned, but there are plenty once trust has been established. Elle Mae is outgoing and we had posted her to be adopted separately at first, but since we have decided that the girls need to go together so that Miss H could feel confident with Elle Mae around. Elle Mae had many who were interested in her, so we hope those that were may consider adopting them both. Elle Mae is bubbly, silly and mischievous just like her name sake. She is a light golden-brown with black accents. She is not food aggressive but loves to eat and was deprived for some time, so better to separate her from other dogs while eating. Elle Mae is a bit of a tomboy and may like to rough house. Her past catches up with her occasionally and she will cower if startled, she does not like a Swiffer or a broom. Miss Hathaway is with a light brindle coat and a very shy girl. Miss H is timid but once you have won her trust and heart, she is the most loving of them all. She is reserved like her name sake, also gentle, loving, and loyal. Her favorite thing is cuddling with her human. Her early life was filled with 'not so great' adventures and she will need a patient, kind loving person with time to give her to develop confidence. She has a big smile and a cute whiney greeting for those she loves. Elle Mae and Miss Hathaway did well on their vet trips, much more confidence than two months ago when getting around people. They have been dewormed, up to date on vaccinations with two puppy shots, heartworm negative, put on preventatives and will be spayed and microchipped prior to going to their forever home. We would like the girls to go together and preferably a family that has had pet experience. These two will require a little extra but will give you unending love in return for your loyalty and love!
