Hi, my name is PUFFY - ID#A4447073. I am a neutered male, white American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 6 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Jul 26, 2020. I'm so excited to see you! I'm a very playful guy looking for an active home where I can go for lots of walks, play out in the yard, or maybe even go hiking. I love playing in water, and enjoy splashing in play pools and grabbing at water from the hose or sprinkler. I know how to sit, and take treats very gently, and I bet I could lots of other tricks if you'll just take a little time to teach me. I've been waiting a long time to find my perfect match, so please ask to meet me today. Here are the latest notes from shelter staff about Puffy: 10/13/2020 OBSERVATION Quiet on approach and allowed leashing, pulled some on the leash to yard. Sniffed around for a little while. Sat for treats. Initially flichy/wide eyed when pet, but then sidled up to handler for back rubs, leaned into petting. Stood still for petting and seemed to enjoy watching people and dogs walking past the yard. Adoption staff & family of customers began to enter yard, dog just watched and was easily distracted while they exited. Easy kennel return, used clip leash to remove slip lead. 10/15/2020 OBSERVATION Easy to leash; explored yard; allowed petting; easily aroused will jump on handler when pet; treat motivated and is easy to redirect with treats; trades ball for treats; knows sit and shake; displaced paw on kennel return, used treats to remove leash. 10/17/2020 OBSERVATION Easy kennel pull; explored the yard; playful and affiliative with handler; easy kennel return.
