About Blue

His name is Blue. I've been working with blue since he was about 4 months old. Blue is a very special dog to say the least. Since I got him he's struggled with severe separation anxiety, he's very very skittish, doesn't like to be pet by new people, and is scared of everything. I've been taking him to my parents house for about a year and a half and he still won't let them pet him. He loves dogs and other animals but would rather hide than be pet by anyone. Our biggest problems with him is his separation anxiety. He howls and howls and scratches his way out of his kennel. We've tried CBD oils/treats, baby monitors to talk to him, blankets over his kennel, my clothing in his kennel but nothing works. It's gotten to the point that as soon as he can't see he howls and cry's for hours. He's destroyed many kennels and carpets trying to escape. He's really wrecked his claws a few times. The reason why we're now rehoming him is because we've got a baby on the way. He's terrified of children and we're very scared to how he'll handle this change. Since being pregnant he's now starting peeing in the house and pooping. With a baby we won't be able to meet his needs anymore. We've worked really hard on helping him but with his needs becoming more demanding we can't do it anymore. When he's scared or frightened he'll do absolutely anything to leave this situation. This sounds typical but he's scared of the wind, leaves, people, sudden noises, bags, toys at times. With a baby we can't have that fear of what he'll do when a leaf falls or she cries. Blue is a very sweet and affectionate dog that attaches to 1-2 people. He'd do best in a home with an older calmer couple that doesn't have a lot of visitors. He'll warm up really fast to one person that he sees all day everyday but won't warm up to visitors no matter the circumstance. He really needs someone that can devote 24/7 to him because of his separation anxiety. Blue is a two year old Pyrenees mix that isn't fixed, he's got all his shots but is due for his rabies shot.
