About Gia

**PLEASE READ GIA'S BIO THOROUGHLY BEFORE INQUIRING.** Meet our beautiful girl, Gia. Isn't she the cutest? Gia is our sweet pup that was an owner surrender that came to us with her two boys, Milo and Charlie. She is a 4 year old /17lb Shih Tzu/Terrier mix who is the cutest thing ever! We want Gia to go in a home with another pup (she gets along better with male dogs than female dogs) or possibly with one of her boys if it's the right home. She is a bit of a barker, which is the terrier in her, so she wouldn't do well in an apartment or condo. She came to us basically like a feral dog, scared to go in a home environment, scared of people, didn't know how to eat out of a dog bowl, etc, but now she is thriving in her foster home and with love, patience, and time...she will be the best dog ever! Gia is FAST and she can RUN and JUMP high so we are requiring that a 3ft dog gate will be placed at the front door (regardless if you have a secure screen door) for an extra protection of her darting out each time the front door is opened. Gia does get seasonal allergies and is a dog that needs monthly flea meds and in the spring/summer time she will need a cytopoint shot for allergies/itching. She loves to cuddle, loves to sit near you, and is a really good dog once she feel safe. Gia definitely needs owners that are not gone long hours during the day or better yet, work from home. She is not good on leash yet and definitely needs a lot of work in that department. If Gia has outdoor access, once she knows the layout and with time, she will get the hang of potty training, but she is a dog that you need to know definitely needs an owner that will be ok with accidents and mishaps. Gia loves to be by her owner, so we need her to go to a home that will allow her on furniture and let her sleep in their bed. We also cannot allow her to be crated. This beautiful girl is really sweet and so deserving of a wonderful forever home and we won't stop until we find one for her!
