[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] ANDY is a happy-go-lucky guy despite the incredible ordeal he's been through. Back in May 2020 he was alone on a reservation, no one helped him. He had an infection so bad he was septic. He body was so filled with pus (infection) that the pus formed a saddle of sorts on his rump. To top it off, a car hit him and he was left there to die. He's also been blinded in one eye :-( His story is here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3563139430373997&id=111176198903688 Fast forward to a very grateful and loving guy who likes his back scratched :-) This fella loves to hang out with. He doesn't really need another dog buddy, sadly no one taught him how to play :-( He'll happily accompany you around the garden/yard, take naps in the sun....but he truly prefers being inside and wants to ensure that he will always come inside with you. Currently he is sleeping in a large plastic kennel/crate and cleanup in the morning is less than 5 minutes (fortunately, he's a 'hard nugget' kind of pooper ;-) There are other options to explore though too -- diapers, laser accupuncture, various gadgets that strap on like a harness that basically catch poop with a poop bag. If you have a soft heart and can be a little creative with the sphincter issue, he is a delightful affectionate dog. His adoption fee includes his neutering, vaccine series, rabies, deworming, microchip. He has had his tail removed due to his circumstances - barely a nub there. We estimate he was born in 2015. We have specific adoption and Covid rules listed below. Revised adoption policy Due to Covid -19 pandemic and social distancing requirements, we've revised our adoption policy. First, please email ([email protected]) to inquire before you fill out the online application. (Please do not call or text). We are unable to do multi-dog/cat meetgreets or adoption events at this time or bring multiple animals to your house to choose from, so please only inquire if you're serious about adopting this particular animal(s). If you're just shopping around with several shelters and rescues, please let us know this. If your application is approved (which 'could' take up to one week) then we will contact you to set up a Zoom chat or ph call to answer questions/clarify anything and set up a day/time to bring the pet to you. Since we can't come into the home/yard due to Covid-19, we ask that you send us pics /video of your home/yard/living area/current pets. We will discuss with you about meeting your other pets if you have any. At the meeting/adoption at your house (outside) please wear a mask (as will we) socially distanced as much as possible and have hand sanitizer. We adopt locally to Central Abq, Santa Fe, Los Alamos and Rio Rancho. No out of area adoptions inquiries please. No young children for our adoptions please. The animals are fostered and our foster families like to know their fosters are happy, healthy, and cared for during their lifetime. We appreciate staying in touch periodically (just a pic, holiday card, social media, pics/videos etc will do :-) Thank you!
