Please Share �'�| Chicago, IL - Adopt Blue the Blind Catahoula/Terrier-Mix Blue is a gorgeous, affectionate, active, goofy and playful, one-year-old, 40-pound male Catahoula/Terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian. Blue has been blind since he was a young pup, but he does not let that define him or slow him down. He has a happy attitude with a constantly wagging tail. Rescued from a shelter in Kentucky, he is now living in a nurturing foster home in Chicago. In just one day, Blue figured out the layout of his foster home and gets around exceptionally well. Blue needs a little patience and encouragement when introduced to new environments but he's always eager to learn and explore. Once he is familiar with an environment, you'd never know he was blind! He zooms around the yard with his canine foster siblings, flies up and down stairs and can even jumps over a small baby gate. After multiple diagnostic tests it has been determined that the most likely cause of his blindness is the parasitic infection toxoplasmosis. While he's recovered from the infection, Blue will never recover his eye sight. He is social with people and other dogs and must live with another dog as his seeing eye friend. He can be timid when meeting new people and needs a little time to warm up. He can still be a bit exuberant in his greetings and mouthy when he plays so he would do best in a home with teens and adults. Blue loves to give kisses and be cuddled and doted on. He is crate-trained and does very well with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. Blue is very healthy, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines, flea and heartworm prevention. He has also had a complete blood panel, a tick-borne illness PCR test, heartworm and fecal test along with chest x-rays. Blue's adoption fee of $375 benefits the rescues of Pal's Place Rescue.
